The franchise owners of three Graze Craze charcuterie locations in Anchorage AK, Bellevue WA, and Woodinville WA hired me to build a local marketing engine that could drive consumer orders and corporate catering demand simultaneously across three distinct markets. The goal was not just to launch successfully. It was to outperform what the franchise system had seen from any location before.

What was the goal?

Corporate franchise marketing is built for national brand awareness, not local revenue. The gap between what the franchisor provides and what actually drives orders in a specific market is where most franchise locations struggle. I was hired to close that gap across three locations at once, building a system that could generate first-time buyers, convert them into repeat customers, and simultaneously develop a corporate catering pipeline of high-value accounts with predictable order patterns.

Grand openings were the first test for each new location. A successful opening builds the customer list and brand awareness that everything else compounds on. The benchmark I was working against was the franchise's own history, and the goal was to set a new one.

The gap between an average franchise location and a top performer is not the product or the brand. It is the local marketing system.

Solution

I built a full local marketing system covering paid search, paid social, grand opening demand campaigns, corporate catering outreach, lifecycle email marketing, retargeting funnels, and community partnerships. Each component was designed to feed the next so that paid acquisition built audience, audience built email lists, and email lists built the repeat purchase behavior that corporate catering revenue accelerated.

For the Anchorage grand opening, the Facebook campaign achieved a 17% click through rate, a 7% opt-in conversion rate, and over 2,000 engagements, making it the highest lead-generating grand opening campaign in Graze Craze franchise history. That list became the foundation for every retargeting and email campaign that followed.

Google Search campaigns were built with tight geotargeting around each location's trade area. The results reflected the precision: a 14.3% CTR, a 95 conversion rate, and a $0.24 average cost per click. The geotargeting campaign in month one delivered 133 clicks and 21 conversion actions. Organic social built sustained audiences in each market, with Anchorage Facebook reaching 106,600 views in the first growth period and 174,600 in the second, and Bellevue Instagram generating 33,700 views during the measured period.

Email marketing across all three locations delivered 14,063 emails, 3,212 opens, and 177 clicks. The 22.8% average open rate exceeded food and beverage benchmarks, and the highest single campaign hit 39%.

Corporate catering outreach ran as a parallel track throughout, targeting event planners, office managers, and businesses in each local market and building the highest average order value pipeline of any channel.

Results

Bellevue ranked in the top 10 Graze Craze locations nationwide twice during the engagement. It reached number 2 in November 2024, number 3 in December 2024, and set the franchise system sales record for December 2024. These results put a single franchise location at the top of a growing national system, competing against every other location and winning.

The Anchorage grand opening became the new benchmark for franchise launches across the entire system. The paid search efficiency, the social audience growth, and the email engagement rates all outperformed typical franchise benchmarks. What the data confirms is that the same product and brand available to every Graze Craze location produces dramatically different outcomes when the local marketing system is built with the right precision. That system is what the top-ranked results were built on.
